WITH Christmas done and dusted for another 350 days – yes, that’s all – you’ve probably had your fill of fragrances.
Personally, if I see one more celebrity cliché whispering narrative in a trying-too-hard-to-be-sexy perfume advert, I might just have to revert back to my childhood and start siphoning rose petals.
Luckily, there are still a few real perfume brands out there with genuinely unique scents, minus the unnecessarily provocative adverts. Jo Malone is one such brand.
This March, Jo Malone launches its London Blooms Collection and my does it make a refreshing change. Drawing on English garden aromas, the fragrance collection is fresh, awakening and elegant for spring.
Our favourite is the White Lilac and Rhubarb which sounds unusual but has been executed perfectly. Without being overpoweringly feminine it emits subtle and charming floral notes contrasted against the tart and fruity rhubarb. The perfume speaks for itself, which is why it definitely doesn’t need a whispering celebrity...
